Rachel Pleis – Camp Director

Rachel Pleis is excited to return for her second year as a Camp Director! Rachel is a Southern California transplant, born and raised in Ventura County. Rachel received her Bachelors of Science in Biology from UC-San Dieg. At School, Rachel was most inspired by the coursework in her two minors, Public Service and Education Studies, her reason for pursuing a career in education. Following her graduation from UCSD, Rachel began a Masters program in Education at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. As part of her Master’s program, she spent two years teaching middle school science at an inner city school in New Orleans, Louisiana through the Americorps program. In addition to receiving her Master’s degree, she received her Single Subject Teaching Credential in Biological Sciences through the program. Before moving to Northern California, Rachel returned to San Diego where she gained experience as a third grade homeroom teacher. She currently teaches science for 4th – 8th grades at a school in Saratoga. Additionally, Rachel is working on her Doctorate in Organization and Leadership, as well as her Administrative Credential, at the University of San Francisco. In her free time, Rachel enjoys coaching girl’s basketball, advising her school’s robotics team, and spending time with her dog, Ernie, and her cat, Diego, while exploring Northern California.

Edventure More’s vision and mission are very important to me because I love seeing children have fun and learn at the very same time. I am excited to be a catalyst for the camp vibe and meet the campers who are inspired to learn, have fun, and be a part of a great summer experience!”

Britteny Cathey-Adams – Digital Photography & Fashion Graphics Instructor

Britteny has lived in San Jose now for two years, since moving out of her home in Humboldt County. Being in the bay has been an exhilarating experience for Britteny and she has just finished her first year of Graduate School. She attends San Jose State University for her MFA degree in Photography. Britteny  has an opinionated rabbit named Mochi, wears heart shaped sunglasses and loves camping, watercolors and making jam with her Grandma. She also enjoys really cheesy knock-knock jokes.

I am so excited to be back with Camp EdTech for another fabulous Summer! The Photo program just got even more exciting thanks to all of last years instructors
